FAQ

Is this gauge liquid-filled, and what’s the benefit?

Yes, this JIVTO back-mount gauge is glycerin (liquid) filled. The liquid layer effectively dampens vibrations and pressure pulsations, ensuring smoother needle movement, more stable readings, and extended gauge lifespan—especially in dynamic or vibrating systems.

What’s the recommended operating pressure range relative to this gauge’s full scale?

To maintain accuracy and avoid damage, the operating pressure should stay below 75% of the gauge’s full-scale. If your system frequently fluctuates, it's safer to keep operating pressures under two-thirds (≈ 66%) of full scale.

How often should this pressure gauge be calibrated?

The calibration frequency depends on usage and environmental conditions. For most applications, a yearly calibration is standard. If used under high vibration, extreme temperatures, or high-frequency pressures, more frequent checks may be necessary. Look for signs like inconsistent readings or zero-point drift.

What should I do if the gauge’s needle appears stuck or inaccurate?

Common causes include mechanical wear, overpressure, vibration, or contamination. First, check for visible damage or leaks, and consider recalibration. If vibration is the culprit, a snubber or restrictor can help dampen pressure spikes. If the needle still sticks, the gauge may need replacement.
